On 1 November 2026 Red Nav turns 20. We opened here in Wangara in November 2006, and we’ve been moving our clients’ cargo around Australia and across the world ever since.
We’re proud of that. Twenty years is a long time in freight, and we owe it to the clients who keep coming back and the ones who sent their friends our way. Thank you.
What 20 years looks like
We handle sea and air freight, imports and exports, through any port or airport in Australia. Full containers, part loads, breakbulk, refrigerated cargo and oversized project freight. Most of it moves through Fremantle, and we sort out the road leg too, so you deal with one company the whole way.
A lot of the people who ring us have never shipped anything before. They’ve put a lot of money into goods that are now somewhere between a factory and a wharf, and that’s a worry. So we keep you in the loop. We send photos of your cargo being loaded when we can, we email you as it moves, and if a vessel is running late we ring you.
The team
When you call Red Nav you get Suzette, Sarah-Lee, Marisa, Natalie or Helena. A real person who knows your shipment, not a queue. You can read more about the team in Five women in a men’s industry.
Our director, Suzette van der Heijden, brings 40 years of experience in freight forwarding. She set up Red Nav after moving to Australia from South Africa, and her view has always been the same: “We must make them feel safe.” That’s still how we work.
A good year to turn 20
This year Suzette was also named a finalist in the Women in Shipping & Maritime Logistics Award at the 2026 DCN Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards. The winners are announced in Brisbane on Thursday 26 November. Read about Suzette’s nomination.
Here’s to 20 years, and many more.
